It is considered one of the greatest moments in sports history — Bobby Thomson’s home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the 1951 playoff series against the rival Brooklyn Dodgers.
Today, 75 years later, the Giants’ stunning victory has grown to become more than that. It is an historical touchstone – a unique crossroads where sport, culture, media and mystery collide.
A unique exhibit that celebrates that moment and its place in history opens this October at Scottsdale Stadium. The exhibit will be accessible during Fall League games and other selected dates. More details on specific dates will be coming soon.

Where is the Thomson home run ball?
Phoenix resident Eric O’Mara claims to own the ball. It will be on display during the Fall League exhibit. There is testimony that appears to support his claim. There is also evidence that appears to disprove it. All great stories contain passion, a hint of the unknown and a quest to discover truth.
The 1951 Thomson home run and Eric’s claim to have the ball make for a great story. It begins at the quirky Polo Grounds, winds its way through Arizona and will continue this Fall at Scottsdale Stadium.
