Arizona Baseball Legacy & Experience

Celebrating Arizona baseball

Join us for an opening reception for “Rebuilding Home Plate”

Baseball was more than a pastime for those forced behind barbed wire because of their Japanese ancestry.

It was a cultural bond, a tradition that helped them endure loss and imprisonment  and ultimately, an exercise in faith.

“Rebuilding Home Plate: Baseball in Arizona’s Japanese American Incarceration Camps” is a story of survival and endurance that continues to resonate today.

Join us from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 25 for a free event at the Arizona Heritage Center Papago Park. We’ll have toasting, tasting and a ribbon-cutting as we unveil this extraordinary exhibit.

Enjoy tastes and sips of Tempe’s finest eateries and wineries to the tune of live entertainment. Meet local business, civic and nonprofit leaders–as well as baseball legends and celebrities. See the “first pitch” for this exhibit. And tour an oasis in the desert–all in one night of reflection and celebration.
